About

Dario Baldi is an Italian director and screenwriter working across feature films, documentaries, commercials and experimental projects. His career moves through different languages and production contexts while maintaining a personal cinematic vision and a strong focus on storytelling.

He began his career primarily as an editor, working from the outset across the different stages of post-production and following projects from concept through to final delivery. This experience gave him a direct understanding of the entire production process and continues to shape his approach to directing and screenwriting. Over the years, he has also produced selected projects, particularly when their nature required direct involvement in development and production. He works in Italian, English and Spanish.

His films include PABLO — THE LIVES OF A POET, FACCIO UN SALTO ALL’AVANA, C’È SEMPRE UN PERCHÉ and LA LEGGENDA DI BOB WIND. His films have been presented at international festivals and distributed in cinemas and on major streaming platforms. His screenwriting credits also include 7 ANNIVERSARI.

His documentary work includes DALL’ALTRA PARTE DELLA LUNA, presented at the Venice Film Festival, ONE PASSION MANY COLOURS, and three seasons of CHAMPIONS OF MADE IN ITALY.

Alongside this work, he develops FILMCOMMUNITY, a path combining filmmaking, training and real production, involving students, complete beginners and people who often face greater barriers to entering the film industry, both in front of the camera and as part of the crew.

Alongside his work in advertising, he is currently preparing the feature film TORNO SUBITO, which he is writing, directing and producing, while completing the documentary LA CASA.

Dario’s television experience also includes second-unit directing on SIRENE, BENVENUTI A TAVOLA and CRIMINI 2.

Creative Development / Mentoring

For several years, Dario taught directing, overseeing more than 100 short films and four collaborative series. His work with young filmmakers spans story and screenplay development, preparation, directorial choices, filming and completion. POSTO ERGO SUM is part of this teaching experience: written, produced and directed by Dario, it was made with students and complete newcomers. NERO brings the same responsibility to a professional anthology series, with Dario as producer and showrunner alongside five young directors.
